In order to best support existing and new Assure Quick-EDD clients, We added various services to our portfolio. These services may be booked as required – either ad hoc or by way of a maintenance agreement or a separate service agreement. This includes the following services: Assure Quick-EDD/Migration, IBM i system migrations with Assure Quick-EDD, Assure Quick-EDD/Health Check, Assure Quick-EDD/Switch (test), Assure Quick-EDD/Remote Management Services (RMS), Assure Quick-EDD education sessions, Assure Quick-EDD user support and Dashboard services.

IBM i system migrations with Assure Quick-EDD
IBM Power i migration with minimal downtime.
Switching to a new IBM Power i system often goes along with a lot of extra costs and extra work in the evenings and weekends. The Assure Quick-EDD migration tool makes the migration much easier, faster, and with minimum downtime.
With Assure Quick-EDD it is possible to perform system migration over long distances, like between different continents. There is NO need to make a back-up of your current system and restore this back-up on your new system. Just install the IBM i operating system to your new system and we send over your programs and data without any downtime. When the systems are in SYNC you can start testing and if you miss anything we can easily get that from the current system, without any downtime.
Migration tasks
- Install/Upgrade Assure Quick-EDD if needed;
- Analysis/Setup with customer;
- Setup switch scenario;
- Start replication (Replication must run stable for 1 week);
- Stop Replication;
- Switch for testing Customer must confirm and validate the target system functionality;
- Restart of replication;
- Migration switch after 1 week of stable replication;
- 1 day of stand-by support if issues appear.
Assure Quick-EDD Health Checks
Extensive control of the Quick-EDD settings and the system settings connected to them.
The health check can be performed ad hoc or planned on a regular basis.
Health Check tasks
Assessment of the Setup:
- Libraries;
- System object;
- IFS;
- Spooled files;
- System values;
- Special objects;
- Verification process.
Assessment of the overall replication status:
- Latency;
- Objects out of sync.
Assessment of the Switch Scenario
- Planned Roll swap scenario;
- Failover scenario.
Assure Quick-EDD Switch Tests
Switch (test) on-site or remote.
The switch test can be performed ad hoc or planned on a regular basis.
We highly recommend a Switch Test be performed once a year.
Switch tasks
- Check replication(s);
- If needed adjust/fix the replication;
- Check verify for multiple days (Replication must run stable for 1 week);
- Check and if needed adjust switch scenarios;
- Switch for testing Customer must confirm and validate the target system functionality;
- Restart of replication;
- 1 day of stand-by support if issues appear.
Assure Quick-EDD Remote Management Services (RMS)
- Monitoring of the replication during office hours;
- Monitoring is managed using the Quick-EDD dashboard and setting up e-mail monitoring which reports issues in real-time;
- Problem solving in case of issues;
- Adaptation of the replication when needed (at the request of customer);
- Adaptation of the switch scenarios (at the request of customer);
- Reorganize of the environment once per month.
Assure Quick-EDD education sessions
Training on-site or remote.
We deliver multiple days of basic and advanced training for Assure Quick-EDD. Training can be focussed to your specific request.
Assure Quick-EDD user support
We can deliver first- and second-line support for Assure Quick-EDD. Without a service contract with us, we will charge as described in the price list. With our international support team, we are able to support you 24/7 with a service contract. We are located in The Netherlands and by default, we can deliver ad hoc support between 09:00 and 17:00 (CET).
Dashboard services
QEDDSERVICES uses its own dashboard that customers can use to check the status quo of the Assure Quick-EDD replication process.
The dashboard is a website that processes replication data from a system/LPAR. You can send replication information automatically from Assure Quick-EDD to the dashboard and see your replication status from anywhere in the world.

This High Availability software for the IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) platform is business-critical software and needs to be monitored at all times. Even though the software and platform is very stable, Downtime, incorrect replication, or errors in replication can have major consequences for the business.
High Availability software is a kind of insurance, which in case of an emergency must be able to switch the source system to the target system and continue the business as usual.
Even though the software is not complex and it does not take much time to monitor it, we often see that not enough attention for the software. It still needs to managed on a daily basis.
That is why we offer you the opportunity to conclude a service contract with us.
FYI, Precisely does not offer service contracts for Assure Quick-EDD.
With these service contracts, you can assure yourself of a stable replication and the direct deployment of our specialists during a crash. Depending on your wishes, you can choose from 3 service packages, bronze, silver, and gold.
RMS Bronze
- Dashboard replication monitoring during office hours (Mon/Fri from CET 09.00 till 17.00),
In case of an error in the replication you receive an email; - Own sign-in account to the replication dashboard to monitor the replication easily from anywhere;
- 1 x Health check a year without a software update. Software update can be done at regular cost;
- In case of an emergency (system crash) direct support, 50% discount on the start fee (pricelist);
- Remote/on-site support is extra charged per hour (pricelist).
RMS Silver
- Dashboard replication monitoring during office hours (Mon/Fri from CET 09.00 till 17.00),
In case of an error we sign-in into the system (VPN) and will try to address the issue; - Own sign-in account to the replication dashboard to monitor the replication easily from anywhere;
- Four times a year we sign-in into the system to check the replication and if needed we upgrade the
software to the latest released version available; - In case of an emergency (system crash) during office hours you get direct support (level 1) with no start fee;
- Remote/on-site support is extra charged per hour (pricelist).
RMS Gold
- Dashboard replication monitoring 24/7,
In case of an error we sign-in into the system (VPN) and will try to address the issue; - Installation of the software upgrades for free;
- Own sign-in account to the replication dashboard to monitor the replication easily from anywhere;
- In case of an emergency (system crash) direct support (level 1) at no extra charge;
- One remote switch test support per calendar year.
